Knocked out a tooth?

If you have knocked out a tooth you should attend or contact us immediately. The sooner a knocked out tooth is re-implanted the more likely it is to embed itself back into the gum.

In the meantime:
– Rinse the tooth in milk, holding it by the crown (avoiding the roots)
– If possible put the tooth back into the socket
– If you cannot re-implant the tooth hold it between your cheek and gum

Broken a tooth?

If you’ve broken or chipped your tooth you should attend or contact us immediately. Damage to a tooth should be treated as soon as possible. Chips or fractures can affect the living tissue inside the tooth, causing problems in the future. Your dentist can prevent the damage from getting worse.

In the meantime:
– Get to your dentist as soon as possible
– Apply a cold pack to the cheek or lips over the broken tooth.
– Rinse your mouth well with warm water
– Store any fragments in a clean container in either milk or your saliva

If you experience a toothache contact us and we will see you as quickly and conveniently as possible.

In the meantime:
– Get to your dentist as soon as possible
– Rinse the mouth regularly with water
– Try to clean any debris from any obvious cavities
– Use dental floss to remove any trapped particles of food
– If swelling is occurs, place a cold compress to the outside of the cheek
– Take pain relief if necessary
